What is in it for you
Your challenge will be to make it easy to develop firmware for a complex, proprietary embedded system with a suite of tools – spanning build systems, toolchains, debuggers, and tracers. This is by no means a DevOps position. You will be developing tools exclusively to improve the efficiency and quality of the deliverables of our chipset firmware team.
Filling this new role, you will proactively plan and develop the tools to lift the efficiency of the whole team. Your tasks will include GDB support for debugging, radio/SW trace and visualization based on CTF, Linux debugging, fast debugging builds, network on chip load/congestion analyzer and aid in developing simulation infrastructure. All in all, you will:
- Identify needs and opportunities for making our firmware development flow more efficient through debug and build tooling
- Implement, deploy and support tooling
- Ensure the standard of tools created by the FW developers and support these
- Develop tooling architecture for the next-generation platform

Your expertise: In-depth Linux and embedded software
As you will juggle with a wide variety of tools and draft solutions for a broad range of problems, we expect you to have significant experience in the relevant area and to hold a relevant degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering. We are particularly looking for:
- In-depth Linux (bash, grep, sed, awk, gdb, strace, …), Python, C, C++, Docker, Java
- Good hardware understanding, meaning some experience with Verilog or VHDL
- Understanding the compilation process; parsing, AST, CFG, SSA form, etc.
- Experience with a few build systems (GNU make, Scons, CMake)
